Dr Joe Conway is one of KG Elite Performance's Phase 2 S&C course tutors, and delivers on our Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine module. Dr Joe qualified from Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) in 1991 and completed the Dublin Regional Training Scheme in General Practice in 1995 getting his MICGP the same year. Following two years in general practice, Joe did a full-time MSc at Trinity College Dublin in Sports Medicine (1997-98).
Post MSc, he travelled to New Zealand to do further training in Sport and Exercise Medicine spending 2 years in Christchurch before entering the Australasian College of Sports Physician Training Scheme to do a further 3 years training in Australia between Townsville (Queensland) and Sydney (NSW) as a registrar completing his exams with ACSP in 2007.
Joe has worked with a variety of sports and teams, some of these include; New Zealand International Soccer team. Canterbury Crusaders Super 14 team, Australia U-19 Rugby Team, numerous Professional Rugby League teams in the NRL, Since arriving back to Ireland, Joe has continued to work in elite sport having worked with Athletics Ireland, numerous Irish Olympic athletes and is currently Chief Medical Officer for the Paralympic Association of Ireland.
